1.    Letter of Introduction  

            - Second school visited in EDUC 200 and,

            - Three-week practicum in April

 

In order to introduce yourself to the School Coordinator and Cooperating Teacher(s) in your field experience school, you are to write a letter introducing yourself.  The following are questions and prompts which you could use as a starting point.  The letter should be personal and reflect your personality.

 

Each letter should be addressed to the specific school in which you will be completing your field experience.  The letter should use correct business letter format, be typed and carefully proofread.  It is to be addressed to the school and/or teacher with whom you will be working.

 

Questions and prompts:

 

·        What teaching/coaching/leadership/work experience(s) have you had?  What have you learned through these activities that will help students or help you as a teacher?

 

·        What special qualities and skills do you have that will enable you to work with students?

 

·        Who influenced you to become a teacher?  What influences encouraged your decision to become a teacher?

 

·        How are you feeling going into this field experience?  What are your concerns?

 

·        What are you hoping to learn from being in a school with students?
